Kurunegala (Sinhala: කුරුණෑගල,Tamil: குருநாகல்) is a major city in Sri Lanka. It is the capital city of the North Western Province, Sri Lanka, and the Kurunegala District. Kurunegala district is also home to a significant numbers of military recruits and to several ex-military rehabilitation villages.
