About Vavuniya
Vavuniya (Tamil: வவுனியா, Sinhala: වවුනියා) is a big town in the Northern Province, Sri Lanka. It’s also the main town of Vavuniya District. Vavuniya was often referred to as the gateway to Vanni. Many villagers were displaced, war affected and have been resettled in this district. Some resettlement constitutes those that were not originally from Vavuniya.
